Fibre Installation Products, Fibre Residential and Business Unit - FRBU for Aerial and Underground Applications
Ideally suited for cables of capacity up to 72 fibers, the Fibre Residential and Business Unit (FRBU) is used for the organization and protection of fiber optic cable splices in both aerial and underground installations. The splice trays are hinged on one side for easy access and are designed to hold up to 16 fusion splices, although using only 12 splices per tray is recommended. For mechanical splicing requirements, HellermannTyton offers the same trays in an unnotched version, allowing room for HellermannTytons separate mechanical splice holders (see page 64). Due to its adaptable and modular design, the FRBU is ideal for installations where multiple cable entries or drops are required. Similar to the FST, the FRBU is protected by a watertight dome cover that is environmentally sealed to the base by a patented rolling O ring. The cables are sealed to the base by heatshrink sleeving or Cablelok non-heatshrink seals. Re-entry is also fast and easy without the use of tools or kits.
