LABELS FOR MARKING TELECOMMUNICATIONS ROOMS AND LARGE CONDUITS, FLAT SURFACES, PATHWAYS, RACKS, BUSBARS
PATHWAY LABELING
Pathways shall be labeled at all endpoints located in telecommunications rooms, equipment rooms, or entrance facilities. Additional labeling may be desirable at intermediate locations, or regularly spaced throughout the length of the pathway.
ANSI/TIA/EIA-606-A-STANDARD
All labels should be of a size, color and contrast to be readily visible by those maintaining the system. Labels should be resistant to environmental conditions likely to be encountered where they are installed, such as moisture or heat, and should be designated to have a useful life equal to or greater than that of the component labeled.
SPACE LABELING
All spaces shall be labeled. It is recommended that labels be affixed at the entry to a space.
Along with the line of computer printable labels, HellermannTyton offers a line of safety signs. These 7" x 10" signs are adhesive backed and made from durable R410 vinyl that features polyester overlaminate, making them suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Labels should be resistant to environmental conditions likely to be encountered where they are installed, such as moisture or heat, and should be designated to have a useful life equal to or greater than that of the component labeled.
An identifier shall be recorded on each termination position label. Each termination position shall be labeled with the termination position identifier except in cases where high termination densities make labeling impractical.
In these cases, identifiers shall be assigned to each termination hardware unit and to the actual termination position identifier determined by the conventions used by that unit.
